A benefit to Stony Brook is its proximity to NYC. On Wednesday, June 17th, the Parker and Alty groups took a trip down the LIRR to partake in the NYU Chemistry and Biology Department's joint Pride Symposium. Kainat graduates!
Happy graduation to the Alty Group's first student, Kainat Chuhan! Kainat joined the group when "the group" was just Jill and her office. Kainat and Jill worked closely in the fall semester to get the lab up and running. In the spring semester, Kainat worked with Ethan Cramer and Dr. James McQuade to develop small-molecule reporters for silicon hydrolysis. Eric Jacobsen visits for Ojima Lecture!
The 5th annual Ojima lecture was hosted by Stony Brook Chemistry on April 17th, 2026. This lecture is endowed thanks to the generosity of Prof. Iwao Ojima and his family.
