Kainat graduates!

Happy graduation to the Alty Group's first student, Kainat Chuhan!
Kainat joined the group when "the group" was just Jill and her office. Kainat and Jill worked closely in the fall semester to get the lab up and running. In the spring semester, Kainat worked with Ethan Cramer and Dr. James McQuade to develop small-molecule reporters for silicon hydrolysis. During her time in the Alty Group, Kainat learned first-hand how to start a lab from scratch and important synthetic techniques.
Kainat earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology and Psychology as a member of Stony Brook's class of 2026. She is already a wonderful pharmacist at a local branch and the university hospital. She will continue studying pharmaceutical sciences and pursue a Pharm.D. next fall. We'll miss you, Kainat!
